Asso Bar

Our first thought about Asso Bar, who came up with the name! One of us could come up with a billion different things to say about it. But name aside, Asso Bar is the only acne soap to charge $124 per bar. This is because it is the only soap to use 24k gold in the formula. Now we know Mariah Carey has used gold infused sprays and such to give her skin a “glow.” But isn’t this all a little bit ridiculous?

Not according to many Asian communities. Apparently, they’ve been using gold to improve skin and healing for centuries. Who knew right. One of the big draws is that Cleopatra supposedly used gold for skincare. And from what we’ve heard, she also used milk baths, which have turned out to be pretty descent.

And according to science, gold works as a powerful antioxidant to kill bacteria in the skin and rejuvenate it, providing important vitamins and minerals and getting rid of free radicals as well. In addition, it stimulate blood flow, which could lead to less wrinkles and fewer common signs of aging.

Gold is one of the most expensive metals on earth, which is probably why Asso Bar is the only one to use it. And the way we figure it, millions of Asians are willing to wait on a 6 month waiting list and pay $124 just to get it. Considering many are known for maintaining a youthful look, whether naturally or through certain treatments, we don’t think it would be wise to discount their thoughts. And according to the research we’ve found, it’s because it works!
